创作背景:
Background of the poem "秋雨绵绵,独饮长剑"
This poem was written by Li Bai when he was 30 years old during his first visit to Chang'an. In the year 730, during the 18th year of Tang Xuanzong's reign, Li Bai came to Chang'an with the intention of being recommended to the emperor by Zhang Shuo and Zhang Ji, father and son, so that he could display his talents and achieve his ambitions. However, to his disappointment, the Zhangs treated him coldly and left him in the "Yuzhen Princess Villa" at the foot of Mount Zhongnan.
To make matters worse, he endured continuous rain, making his life extremely difficult. This experience made Li Bai feel foolish for being misled, and he wrote this poem as a way to vent his anger and frustration.
This poem reflects Li Bai's feelings of loneliness and despair while he was stranded in the mountains, excluded from society and unable to realize his ambitions. It also shows his determination to persevere through difficult times and to continue striving towards his goals. Despite the obstacles he faced, Li Bai remained steadfast and his poetry remains an inspiration to this day.
